How I Ended Up as a Design Student

All of us are a main character in our Story Of Life.

People like me (an average introvert who will definitely over think before speaking about anything) never like to talk about what is happening in their life -or maybe nothing is happening at all.

However, these three years after passing out from school have been a rollercoaster for me, where I don't pay for the ticket, but I experience everything that happens during the ride.

And let me be honest, this is just the beginning.

School was good, but I was never actually interested in those subjects. Talking about science and maths, I was into none of them. It was like an unsuccessful arranged marriage.
Something that I was genuinely interested in was Art. An external affair I had during school.

School ka rishta humne acche se nibhaya, par dil me jagah Art ne le li thi.

And that was a start to a journey as an Artist.
I started taking interest in painting, mandala art, sketching and all sorts of art mediums. I joined classes and appeared for Elementary and Intermediate. My interest boiled up and I decided to divorce with Science and Maths and run away with Art in my hand. And how did that happen? LOCKDOWN

Lockdown was both a boon and a bane for all of us. I took it as a boon. I could engage myself with Art as there was no time constraint. I did workshops for oil painting, portrait making, watercolor painting, etc. I was ready to go for Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Here's the twist.
Does Fine Arts have scope? Doesn't it include struggle? Achha paisa milega?
Such questions made me and my family rethink our decisions. We talked to a number of people and got to know that Design is a great option as a career if you're interested in art and creativity. This was one of the greatest change of decision that took place in my life.
I was ready, ready to go for Design as a career. Coaching started before I could even take admission for 11th. Haha! Here comes the most ridiculous, but funniest thing.

10th me acche marks milne ke baad Arts kaun leta hai? Science padho, achha scope hai. Arts me kya hi kar loge.
Dear toxic aunty,
Maine already decision le liya hai. I want to be successful and therefore it's my choice.
P.S. - No offence to Science people, it's just an answer to general public who says this...
Thank me later dear Arts aspirants ;)

Well, coming back, all I wanted you guys to knows is that whatever you choose to do in life, it is going to be your decision. You have to choose wisely. Log kuch bhi kahe, career toh tumhara hai na
Life is a rollercoaster after all, but whether to sit tightly and enjoy the ride, or take heavy risks and fall off - is completely up to you. Sharma Ji ka beta nahi aayega waha tumhe samjhane.

Trust me. Design is going great for me so far. All I did was listen to professional people who knew what goes on in the market. And of course, interest is the soul of your career. Learn to listen to your soul.
